On 23/5/‘23 we put new bench seating into our Úllord at Garraí Bhríde. This is another welcome addition to the old Pedestrian Entrance off Chapel Street and further enhances our Outside Wellness Spaces.
Wellness & Wellbeing are one of the Core Pillars of our DEIS Plan at SBC. The children themselves are at the centre of all the little projects we carry out in these spaces.
Sadly, these benches have been damaged already by groups of teenagers who “hang out” down at the school.
We are very proud of our grounds here at SBC and love to see people pass through in the evening times. At SBC we welcome all visitors before, during and after school.
However, quite a lot of vandalism has been occurring lately.
• Our Junior Basketball Rings had to be removed.
• Gardening and Farm equipment have been taken from their storage areas and thrown about.
• Teenagers have been messing about in our Polytunnel.
• Damage to our new benches outside in the Úllord.
• Litter thrown about the grounds
We can’t lock everything away and it’s impossible for us to lock off the grounds.
Neither do we wish to do that.
As stated earlier, we welcome all visitors to our grounds. All we ask is that visitors respect our property and our amenities. Come and enjoy the gardens and farm, but please act responsibly and refrain from damaging/breaking our property and don’t throw litter around.
Please talk to your older children in this regard.
Thanks as always
